Les Mosquées de Rabat
Hors de l'enceinte du Palais Royal, le long de l'avenue Moulay Hassan, la mosquée As-Sounna, élevée au XVIIIème siècle par les Alaouites.
Si vous consultez une photo ancienne, vous vous apercevrez que le minaret a été inversé. Il se trouvait au nord et a été déplacé pierre par pierre pour être reconstruit au sud.
Explication : le roi Hassan II qui l'a restauré, voulait que le minaret soit dans l'axe de la perspective de l'avenue Mohammed V.
Face au Palais Royal construit en 1864 sur les ruines de l'ancien Palais du XVIIIème siècle, se trouve l'élégante mosquée royale Ahl Fas, séparée du Palais par l'immense esplanade du Mechouar. Lors des fêtes religieuses ou traditionnelles, il est fréquent que le roi traverse le Méchouar en carrosse ou à cheval, pour se rendre à la mosquée.
Le roi se rend à la mosquée du Palais Royal AHL FAS pour la prière du vendredi, lorsqu'il se trouve à Rabat.
Derrière la mosquée du Mechouar , on devine la haute silhouette de la mosquée Jemaa As Sounna qui se trouve hors de l'enceinte du Palais.
L'enceinte du Mechouar n'est plus accesible aux visiteurs isolés. Seules les personnes accréditées ou les groupes disposant d'un guide officiel sont autorisés à pénétrer dans le Mechouar.
C'est une bien belle histoire que celle de la mosquée Lalla Soukaïna. Le Roi Hassan II avait une adoration pour sa fille aînée SAR Lalla Meryem. Lorsque cette dernière mit au monde en 1986 une fille prénommée Soukaïna, le roi Hassan II offrit tout simplement à sa petite-fille un titre de princesse et il fit construire pour elle une mosquée, en faisant appel aux meilleurs artisans du Royaume et aux plus fins matériaux. Edifice contemporain, la mosquée Lalla Soukaïna mérite peut-être le titre de plus belle mosquée de Rabat. Blottie dans une petite rue calme de Souissi, le quartier chic de Rabat, celui des Ambassades et des résidence des hauts dignitaires du Royaume, la mosquée Lalla Soukaïna n'est pas facile à trouver. Elle n'est pas destinée à des visites touristiques, mais en étant respectueux des fidèles et des heures de prière, vous pourrez admirer dans une quiétude apaisante le magnifique travail des artisans Marocains qui ont contribué à sa réalisation, ceux qui ont fait la réputation de la mosquée Hassan II et du mausolée de S.M. Mohammed V
A droite du Mausolée et face à la Tour Hassan, se trouve la mosquée Hassan, la mosquée du Mausolée Mohammed V où se déroulent les cérémonies religieuses nationales.
Ainsi est reconstituée la mosquée que Yacoub El Mansour avait voulu ériger à cet emplacement et dont il ne reste que le minaret, la Tour Hassan. A gauche de la mosquée, le mausolée du roi Mohammed V dans lequel reposent aussi les dépouilles du Roi Hassan II, et du Prince Moulay Abdellah, l'autre fils du Roi Mohammed V.

To understand why, consider this: if you stand up and lean forward, so that you are out of balance, you will intuitively put your leg forward. Segway works the same way: to move forward or backward, the rider just leans slightly in such direction, and Segway will follow your movements. It is proved that our 2 hours tours show you what you will see in 6 hours walking!
All the tours start with a little training on how to use Segway, because for us safety is the priority. However, we experienced that it takes just a little practice to master on Segway! There are no required skills and, in particular, no need to be able to bicycle. There will always be a tour leader with you, guiding the whole group, so that you can enjoy the view and the tour of Verona. Audioguides (available in different languages) will provide the information you need to fully comprehend the history and architecture of our main monuments, squares and buildings.
In particular, our 2 hours tour will show you: Piazza Bra, one of the biggest squares in Italy, with the Arena, the famous Roman amphitheatre; we will then take Via Oberdan in order to see Portoni Borsari, one of the ancient entrance of the Roman city; we will firstly explore Piazza Erbe and secondly Piazza Dei Signori, two squares full of symbols and buildings with enchanting beauty, and then see Arche Scaligere. Heading to the Duomo, Verona’s Cathedral, we will pass by Santa Anastasia, next to the Conservatory of music; after that, we will have a break on Ponte Pietra, the bridge with the breathtaking view of the Roman Theatre and San Pietro Castle (and much more). On our way back, we will stop at Juliet’s house, so that you don’t forget to take pictures and write your names on the walls! We will conclude our tour with Castelvecchio, the Scaligeri castle and enjoy its amazing view of Verona.
